Wet Painting

If a product requires protection in demanding conditions, wet painting is the best option. Wet painting is ideal for parts that need to withstand environments such as marine climates or temperature fluctuations between cold and hot. The choice of paints affects the surface's corrosion resistance, impact resistance, heat resistance, electrical conductivity, gloss level, color shades, and texture. We always select paints based on the product's intended use and are happy to discuss different options with our customers.

Wet painting is recommended, for example, when the product needs to be painted in different colors on different sides, when the part cannot withstand heat, or when it does not fit in an oven (which is a requirement for powder coating). Wet painting allows for the application of thicker paint layers than powder coating, and it can be done even after assembly if necessary.

At Polttoväri, wet painting is performed either with automated painting machines or manually, depending on the product. After painting, the parts typically dry at room temperature.

Please note that we can also reassess alternative coating methods together. This saves your time and resources by avoiding unnecessary over-specification of the surface treatment. For instance, we can conduct a comparative test between powder coating and wet painting.

Hanging:

It is advisable to consider the hangability of the product already in the design phase. The product is usually hung either from a designated hole or corner.

We are happy to discuss which part of the product is suitable for hanging.
